Wow! Thank you so much for posting these! Such a waste that Serrated Dawn was never produced by WOTC. I've tried to imagine what the minis might have looked like, and produce proxies as best I can. I was pretty proud of the Dragon Ambassador I'd made from a Pearlthorn Dragon Knight, until I saw your art. Puts my crude chiselings to shame (and sets a new bar for me to aspire to!) I can't wait to see more! --Byleui
ReplyDeleteThis one looks really great Chris. Makes me lament even more that Wizards didn't see it through to release.
ReplyDeleteThanks David. This has been a bitter sweet piece for 3 years now. I finally got to do a dragon and it would have been in the last set to be produced only to get bumped to the following set and never see the light of day. Some solace to finally get to show it off. I had heard it was going to be featured on packaging art. What could have been.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the post Byleui. More will be on the way soon!
ReplyDeleteI think this is one of the best miniature design i've ever seen, not only in your blog Chris
ReplyDeleteA great design, amazing details and an overall nice looking shape(remindes me some Mandarin folk)
Well done!!!!

Thanks Marco! I cross my fingers that a prototype of it is somewhere out there and I will one day come across it on ebay.
ReplyDeleteWell, I've made a start on making one from Sculpey, but you won't ever see it on Ebay. I've got the head and torso, and am starting on the limbs, but it's a slow process. I'll post photos once I'm done. For the next design you post, might you choose one with fewer parts? :-) Love your work!
ReplyDelete@Byleui - Looking forward to seeing how it turns out! I will try to post some simpler designs next time, but to be honest, as the sets progressed the complexity of the deigns increased. Thanks! Glad you like my work!
