Jwarnen Gecko - The Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia

As the layout of The Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia neared completion, it was clear that there were some holes in the book that needed to be filled if layout and arrangement were to be kept consistent. To address this, I needed to produce several new pieces of spot art to expand and enhance areas of content in the book. Not only does this mean there is more art in the book, but I was also able to add more text to expand sections and add to the world-building. Leading up to the launch of the Kickstarter on February 29th, I will be sharing the new art for the book.

Today's piece of spot art is a Jwarnen Gecko. This relates to the Gullet section of the book. You can read more about this section of the book on The Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia blog.

The Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia COMING TO KICKSTARTER FEB 29!

The time has finally come! Soon, you will be able to travel to the planet of Kiervis and explore the Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia. What mysteries walk to streets at night? What dangers dwell below the ground? Where can you buy the best drinks? You will learn all this and more. ArtOrder and I are excited to announce that on February 29th, the Kickstarter for my book will finally launch.

The book is done. The art is drawn. The stories are written. All we need now is your support to have the book printed. Here is a peek behind the curtain to see what we have been working on all this time.

Each entry is made up of several different voices and points of view. Learn more about the Bazaar as you learn about each entry.

But wait, why make one book when you can make two books! As part of the Kickstarter, you can acquire a pocket guide that contains 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons stats for the monsters in the main book. This guide is set in the world of the Grand Bazaar and contains more writing about the Bazaar and those living in it.

2019 Holiday Card - Elder Greetings

Our holiday cards went out late this past December. To allow that they reached their destinations without spoiling the card for everyone, I decided to give as much time as possible before sharing the art. I wanted to do something a bit more creepy this year, and I hopefully hit the mark with these Elder Greetings. I think the piece speaks for itself, and it was a lot of fun to create.

Theros Beyond Death Prerelease - TONIGHT!

If you are in the greater Tallahassee area, I will be appearing at Gamescape tonight for their Theros Beyond Death Prerelease event. I will be signing cards and will have prints, artist proofs, playmats, and original art with me. Those attending will have the opportunity to get their hands on my new Theros Beyond Death prints! Nylea's Forerunner - Magic: the Gathering - Theros Beyond Death

I am pleased to share with you the last of my cards that will be part of the newest Magic the Gathering set, Theros Beyond Death. Not only is this the final card to be spoiled for me, but it was also the last card I worked on of these three Theros cards. The enchanted star effect was really fun to work with, but it was the most challenging to make work in this piece. It was great working with Dawn Murin on these, and I happy to finally be able to share them with you. Here is last, but not least, the Nylea's Forerunner.

As I mentioned when I shared my Egg Token from Commander 2019, my schedule is currently too full to allow me to do the entire prep work for these. This means I only had time for the pencil drawing and not the tonal study. I had to work that out as I painted, which has resulted in some frustration with the paintings.
