Just Games Rochester's Commander Sealed 2025 Auction Ends This WEEKEND!

THE AUCTIONS END THIS WEEKEND! 

I am happy to once again be a part of Just Games Rochester's Commander Sealed 2025 auction! The auction is once again supporting Trans Lifeline and The Trevor Project, and I have several items in this year's auction. You can view all of my available items in the auction on their site. My items include four books which contain an original drawing, and one aritst proof with art on its back. The auction runs through the Commander event the weekend of September 5-7th. There are many other items available from other artists, so there should be something for everyone. Be sure to head over and take part in an amazing cause and get yourself, or someone else, a special item!

Up for action are two Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia coloring books and two stat guides. All four books are signed and have an original drawing in them. Also available is a Salavating Gremlins artist proof with an original dragon art on its back.

Infinity Con 2024 Artist Proofs

Things are moving fast these days, and as I have to protect all images I put on the internet, it has added additional time to my posting schedule. This means that it is now AFTER Infinity Con 2024, and I am sharing the color art artist proofs that I premade for the event. I began doing this in 2024, and so far, it has been a huge hit. While I didn't expect any of these to sell at Infinity Con, the Breaching Hippocamp went to its forever home. I plan to have many of these with me at Gen Con in a few weeks and went ahead and used Infinity Con as an excuse to get ahead on making these. So, if you are attending Gen Con, you will have access to three of these, plus the others I will be making between now and then. For now, I will leave you with some images of the art on the back of the proofs.

I am thrilled to announce after a little delay, I finally have my new Coveted Peacock artist proofs on my store. This is a reprint of this card, which was originally from the set Conspiracy 2: Take the Crown. It took flight again recently in the set, Commander Masters, which was released in 2023. I have been juggling a lot lately, and these proofs kept getting ignored, but thankfully that has been rectified.

Magic the Gathering Art FOUND! Breaching Hippocamp Concept Sketches NOW AVAILABLE!

Recently, while doing a great deal of organizing and cleaning I discovered some concept sketches from the second Magic the Gathering card I ever worked on, the Breaching Hippocamp. I had thought these lost, destroyed, or in the ownership of another, but I had them this entire time, safely tucked away in the completely wrong place. Now that they have surfaced, they are now available! This set of four pages are 7 x 5 and are drawn in ink on lined yellow notepad paper. Here are all of the pages together.

I shared the process for making the Breaching Hippocamp painting ten years ago on this very blog. You can see how some of these concepts were used to create the finalized concept drawings for this monster. There are so many concepts here that I still love and hopefully, one day I will be able to utilize them for the starting point of something new. Here are all of the pages presented separately so you can get a better look at them. As I have mentioned before, these are available as a set.

There are production notes on the back of each page. At the time of working on the card, it was simply called the Hippocamp. I often wonder if my depiction in the art led to the name change. Here is a look at the back of each page.

As you might remember, the Blufferfish was another fishy friend I designed and painted for the Magic the Gathering set, Unfinity.
