Getting ready for Gen Con 2011 - Buttons!

In just a couple of days I will find myself in Indianapolis getting ready to have my first booth at a con. Am I nervous? Not one bit, you know why... because I have NEW BUTTONS!

Okay, maybe I am a little nervous. I have been planing and preparing for a while now and have my checklists and game plan. The buttons were the last item that needed to be accounted for. Most of my lingering concerns about the con are around just getting there and getting it all set up. Being my first time manning a booth I am going to try to learn as much as I can and hope that at least one person takes pity on me and buys something... okay, maybe two people.

Once again I would like to thank Chris Presley for making all my buttons. He is a incredibly generous friend and humbles me with his efforts to keep me in buttons for the cons I attend. Many thanks Chris!

Getting ready for Gen Con

Gen Con is finally upon us! We are but a few days away from (what I am told) the super awesomeness that is Gen Con. As I have mentioned, this will be my first time attending. Con season is always a good motivator to get your self promotional materials updated. Since this is my first Con of the year, Gen Con will see the debut of my new business cards, post cards and button set!

Hopefully my self promotional materials tell people everything they need to know about me... I LIKE MONSTERS! I am really happy with how these new business and post cards turned out. I once again used postcards.com and they did a bang up job. Did I mention their super fast delivery? The business cards were in the mail to me the day I placed the order and the post cards where in the mail the following day. I can't recommend them enough!

Once again I would like to thank Chris Presley for making all my buttons. He is a stalwart friend and so very generous with his time and resource. Many thanks Chris!

One of these days I will collect all the business cards together that I have used so that we can all have a laugh at my expense. But that day is not today.

I will have a normal blog post on Wednesday. After that I hope to be posting live from Gen Con with photos and updates on all that is happening there. I have many friends and colleagues that I want to catch up with and hopefully they won't mind to have their mugs plastered all over the blog. Until then...

New Buttons - Illuxcon

As promised, here are some images of my new buttons that I will be handing out at Illuxcon in just a couple of days. This marks my second time I will be using buttons as a promotional item, the first being this past San Diego Comic Con. If you missed the buttons I made for Comic Con, you can see them HERE. The three favorites are back with two new additions, a black and white piece from Knockspell #2 and the Dragon Rage Barbarian. Be sure to ask for a button or two at Illuxcon, I will be happy to oblige!

Nothing like a crappy photo to really sell the awesomeness that are these buttons. Trust me, they look really really good.

My friend Chris Presley was kind enough to once again make these for me and if that was not enough he made me 130 of them. In my opinion they are even better then the first batch. So don't be shy, make sure you ask for one (if you really want to) ... and don't forget to ask about my sketch cards!

I will be traveling tomorrow and should be updating my adventures via twitter. I will try to have another normal blog post tomorrow (albeit late) since I should have a new piece of work released tomorrow! For that matter I have a ton of work being released today for a game I worked on... but that will have to all wait till next week (sorry). If all goes to plan, I will be posting images and thoughts about Illuxcon over the weekend... cross those fingers! Until then...

Illuxcon 2009 - Will you be there?

Illuxcon 2009 is just around the corner and it should be the event of November! For those that haven't heard of it before, Illuxcon is a symposium for fantastic illustration centered around demos and lectures and allows for interaction between artists of all levels, students and collectors of art. I will be attending the event for the first time this year and will be in Altoona all 4 days of the event and I was just wonder who else will be there. I am actually flying in the day before and flying out the day after so I will have a bit of down time in Altoona before the conference starts. I will either be watching a lot of cable and getting some drawing done or hopefully some of you folks will be arriving too and we can start meeting up.

I am eager to learn to know who will be attending and when you will be arriving, so drop me an email or comment on your plans.

To not be out done by my antics at Comic Con, I plan to have more buttons (cross those fingers) to hand out to anyone that wants one and I am already working on original sketch cards to hand out or to use as trade for other folks sketches. So if we meet up at Illuxcon make sure you ask for you button and sketch. I hope you will have something to trade ;)

I am getting the last of my preparations in order for this years San Diego Comic Con. Some are last minute things, and others are things that have been pushed to the last minute. As I get all my ducks in a row I wanted to share with you a fun little promotional item I will have with me to hand out to people at Comic Con. BUTTONS!
