Gen Con 2025 - NEXT WEEK!

Gen Con 2025 begins next week! While the convention runs from July 31 - August 3rd, it starts earlier for those exhibiting. I have a travel day and a set-up day next week before the first person arrives at my table in the Art Show. I have a lot planned for the show in addition to all of the usual monsters and fiends that accompany me to shows. I will have many new secrets to share with you later this week through next Monday, but for now, I wanted to share where you can find me and one known surprise for the show.

Come find me at Gen Con Art Show table 50!
Near the front of the Art Show, you will find me and all my monsters!

Already announced, I will have my Mystery Print Bundles with me at Gen Con for the first time! They were a hit at Pensacon and Infinity Con, and I am thrilled to bring them to Gen Con. In each bundle, you will find three prints from my gaming work that are no longer available elsewhere. There is a high probability of finding a print with an original sketch in the bundles. There are also some bundles with a bonus fourth print and one bundle with a certificate to win an original drawing (You must return the certificate to me in person at a show to get the original drawing.)!

The Mystery Print Bundles!
Get yours at Gen Con next week, July 31st through August 3rd, in Indianapolis.

Speaking of drawings, here is a look at just a few of the many sketches that can be found on the borders of some of the prints. I did the math wrong, and now over half of the bundles have prints with sketches!

Are you feeling lucky? Will you find a bundle with an original sketch!?

Also already mentioned are my brand new Crest of Ethra stickers! They debuted at Infinity Con and now those attending Gen Con can get their hands on one of these as well. Proudly adorn your belongings and yourself with these vinyl stickers.

The Crest of Ethra stickers!
Get yours at Gen Con next week, July 31st through August 3rd, in Indianapolis.

There are more surprises to share, and those will be starting up on Wednesday here on the blog!

That's all for another exciting Monday on the blog. See you back here on Wednesday! Until then...

The Gathering is the Magic Clip: "Christopher Burdett - Breaching Hippocamp"

During Gen Con 2022, I had an excellent opportunity to speak with the folks behind the upcoming documentary about Magic the Gathering, The Gathering is the Magic. It was a lot of fun and always a good time to talk about art, monsters, and more. I eventually was a part of a follow-up interview where I spoke about my work on the game in greater detail, as well as other topics. Another clip from the more recent interview has been shared, so I am now sharing it with you.

The Gathering is the Magic - A documentary about how Magic the Gathering brings people together, fosters friendship, and inspires with art and storytelling.

In the interview, I was asked to discuss the cards I created for Magic the Gathering. It was fun to reminisce about the art and monsters I made, the fan response to them, and the behind-the-scenes stories regarding the cards. This clip is about the Breaching Hippocamp. Enjoy the clip, and check out what else The Gathering is the Magic has been sharing!

The story of the Breaching Hippocamp and the work and more work that went into it.

That's all for another exciting Friday on the blog. See you back here next week! Until then...

Inifinity Con 2025 Recap

This past weekend was Infinity Con 2025. It is always great to be a part of a local event like this. This year felt super busy, and there were a ton of vendors, guests, artists, activities, panels, and more. I barely saw any of the show as I was always busy at the booth talking to people. Late Sunday, I had a person come up to the booth and tell me that in that moment, it was the first time they had seen me without people at the booth. It was a blast to talk to everyone, catch up with friends, and meet new ones. Once again, I shared the stage with Mark Maddox to talk about monsters and the changing landscape of the industry and our careers. Always a fun time! I would love to tell you more about the con beyond my booth, but like I said, I was just too busy to see much of it while it was going on. I did manage to take a few pictures of the con.

I was thrilled with my location at the show. I was at the end of a row and near a busy path for attendees.

I do love myself a corner booth!

These are the droids I was looking for. The local 501st always puts on a good show.

The AWESOME Tony Buoni gifted me with some treasures!
He is a great guy and has amazing taste in records.

As always, I got to see R2. He was the life of our holiday parties when we used to have them.

A big thanks to Carlin Trammel for moderating the panel with Mark and me.

Carlin, Mark, and I after the panel - they didn't kick us out!

Romans were here...

Another look at the booth on Sunday.

At the least photogenic moment, I took some photos from my booth out into the con. These photos do not remotely do the show justice. Especially on Saturday, at times it was PACKED!

A huge thanks go out to David Heringer for having me as a guest and hosting such a fun event, and all those who attended Infinity Con 2025 and stopped by to learn more about the Grand Bazaar! I hope to see you all at Infinity Con 2026!

That's all for another exciting Wednesday on the blog. See you back here on Friday! Until then...

Infinity Con 2025 Starts TOMORROW!

Infinity Con starts tomorrow in Tallahassee, FL, at the Donald Tucker Civic Center. I will be there with all my monsters and will be surrounded by a lot of other awesome guests, creators, and vendors. I am looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces and to meeting many new ones. I hope to see you out there, and do not forget the return of my Mystery Print Bundles!

Come see me and many others at Infinity Con starting tomorrow, July 12th, in Tallahassee, FL, at the Donald Tucker Civic Center!

You will find me and all my monsters at The Abyss booth #1!
And if you have been attending Infinity Con in recent years, you will find me in more or less the same spot I have been previously.

Hold the presses! An unexpected surprise item arrived just in time for the con. STICKERS! For the first time, I will have a small number of Ethra Crest stickers at the shows this summer.

Be one of the first to get your hands on an official Grand Bazaar sticker at Infinity Con this weekend!

Did someone say Mystery Print Bundles!? I will offer MORE discontinued prints in mystery bundles, allowing collectors to obtain prints that are no longer available or were never made available. Each mystery bundle contains three randomly selected prints. All of the prints come signed, and if you are lucky, you may find a print with an ORIGINAL DRAWING along the border, a SURPRISE FOURTH PRINT, or a CERTIFICATE FOR A FREE DRAWING.

The return of the Mystery Print Bundles!
Get yours at Infinity Con this weekend, July 12th and 13th, in Tallahassee, FL.

Here is a look at just a few of the many drawings on prints you might find in the bundles! I made way more drawings on prints than I meant to, so you have a high chance of finding one.

Are you feeling lucky?
If you are, you might find one of these original drawings in your mystery bundle!

That's all for another exciting week on the blog. See you back here next week! Until then...

Mystery Print Bundles Returning for Infinity Con and Gen Con!

I am pleased to share one of the surprises I have in store for you at Infinity Con this weekend, July 12th and 13th! After their massive success at Pensacon, I will be offering MORE discontinued prints in mystery bundles, allowing collectors to obtain prints that are no longer available or were never made available.

Each pack has a potential value of up to $200, and you can obtain one at the convention for only $50! I have a great selection of prints available, and they run the gamut of my work over the years. Included are many fan favorites, high-profile projects, and hidden gems. There will be some of the same prints previously offered at Pensacon, as well as many new print offerings!  Prints available in the bundles may include:

• STAR WARS (LOTS!!!)
• DUNGEONS & DRAGONS (LOTS!!!)
• A GAME OF THRONES
• PATHFINDER
• LEGEND OF THE FIVE RINGS
• CALL OF CTHULHU
• KAIJUDO
• Various MONSTERS
• The GRAND BAZAAR of ETHRA VANDALIA

Each bundle comes sealed, so there is no peeking. As before, I have drawn on the lower corners of many of the prints. To be honest, I did my math wrong and ended up drawing on WAY more prints than I should have, meaning that your chances of getting an original drawing on your print are very high. I think nearly half of the bundles have prints with drawings.

In addition to the drawings on the prints, there are bundles that contain a surprise fourth print. And there is a single bundle that includes a certificate for a free drawing. You MUST return the certificate to me at the convention to get the drawing. I will not be shipping the drawing to the winner. I will repeat that - if you find the winning certificate in your bundle, you must return it to me at the convention to receive it.

Here is a look at just a few of the many drawings on prints that you might find in the bundles!

Are you feeling lucky?
If you are, you might find one of these original drawings in your mystery bundle!

While it is possible, I am confident that I will not sell out at Infinity Con. If we did, that would be amazing, but we planned to have plenty left for Gen Con. It is at Gen Con that I expect to sell out, so if you want to get your hands on these, I will see you at Infinity Con or Gen Con this summer.

My Mietze got involved this time, and you will notice his face stamped on this grouping to mark it as the second wave of print bundles.

I have a lot of bundles to offer this summer, and many have prints with drawings on them!

That's all for another exciting Wednesday on the blog. See you back here on Friday! Until then...

Magic: The Gathering in Miniature II Show Artists Proofs Now Available!

My artist proofs created for the Magic: The Gathering in Miniature II Show have returned to me, and they are now available on my store and will be touring with me at my summer conventions. It has been an honor to be part of both shows. For the second show, I created a series of pieces focused on the more monstrous Plainswalkers. They were super fun. You can find these and all my other artist proofs on my store.

Here are the cards again with their fronts. These are the first time I have drawn these characters, and they were a ton of fun to work on. I haven't worked on anything official using Plainswalkers, and I haven't been asked to draw any, that come to mind, on the back of a proof, which added to the fun of making these.
