Kickstarter Roundup - Dahlinger, Fritz, and Colin

Today on the blog, I wanted to point out several current Kickstarter projects that I think you all might be interested in. They feature fantastic art by incredible artists, and if you have not already checked them out, you should do so NOW!

First up is Sarah Dahlinger's Astra Fauna: Expeditions. Sarah shares:

Hi friends, let me tell you a tale…

...of aliens and adventures in far off places.

Let me tell you about, Astra Fauna!

Astra Fauna: Expeditions is a story-filled artbook that follows five alien scientists as they explore the wonders of a creature-filled universe.

You'll experience new worlds with unique creatures and peoples, read stories of mystery,  love,  and danger, and experience things both cute and monstrous.

Every chapter showcases the adventure of an alien scientist who's exploring life on a far-off planet.

They will candidly tell the tales of their adventure first hand, bringing you into their worlds and lives.

Bonus Content Added! All copies will come with stat blocks so you can use the Astra Fauna creatures and characters in your own homebrew role playing games!

I am extremely excited about this project. I love world and monster creation, and I can not wait to get this in my hands. It has been a joy to watch Sarah breathe life into the project, and we all need to lend support to make sure this is made a reality. There is so much more to share about Astra Fauna, be sure to follow the link and read all about it.

Next up is Tawny Fritzs La Fleur Mystique - Coloring Book. Tawny shares:

Born in New Orleans, I am heavily influenced by magic and mysticism. I don't know if you know this, but flowers are incredibly important to both the physical realm and the magical. Bees need them for nectar and we need bees for pollination. Flowers are what connects us. Lavender has calming qualities both in science and in spells. Nightshade can be used to banish and to poison. I spent the last few months drawing what I see as the personification of many of my favorite flowers and I would love for you to add life to them with your colors!

La Fleur Mystique will be a silky soft cover foil stamped coloring book, perfect bound at 8.5"x11", with over 24 pages printed on 80 lb paper. The back of each page will be left blank so you won't have to worry about bleed-through. Each image was hand drawn by me using micron and Faber-Castell pens.

Each image is printed twice, giving you the opportunity to try different materials and different color palettes.

This is another great project from Tawny, and if you know her work, you know how beautiful it is. If you love gorgeous images that you can color, then this is the project for you.

Lastly, there is Brian Colin's RPG Squeeze Plush – Soft & Cuddly Dungeon Crawl Critters. This is through Brian's company Creature Curation and, unlike the other two is happening on Backerkit and not Kickstarter. Brain shares:

Here at Creature Curation we love all monsters, especially cute squishy dungeon crawl critters! And, when we need something to squeeze, we give one of them a squish.

Each RPG Squeeze Plush, is made from high-quality materials that are soft, huggable, and ready to squeeze! Classic dungeon crawl monsters in the form of plushies featuring the Gelatinous Cube, Strixbear, Black Ooze, Hellhound, and Eyegors

Brian is awesome, his monsters are awesome, and I have shared his projects several times before, and they have always had top-notch results. These look so fun, and I can not wait to see them in person. Be sure to head over and help out with this current project.

That is all for another exciting week on the blog. See you back here on Monday! Until then...

Kickstarter Roundup - Black , Fritz, and Colin

Today on the blog, I wanted to point out several current Kickstarter projects that I think you all might be interested in. They feature fantastic art by incredible artists, and if you have not already checked it out, you should do so NOW!

First up, we have Steven Russell Black's Drawings of the Major Arcana Tarot. Steven shares:

"I'm raising funds to create my first Tarot Deck. The cards will feature my dark and surrealist take on the Major Arcana of the Tarot. The funds will be used for my production time on the set as well as Printing and shipping. I've made a first big stride before coming to market here as the first 8 cards and all design work is already finished. Just need this kickstarter to help see it to the finish line."

If you are unfamiliar with Steven's work, you owe it to yourself to check it out. He is a fellow toned paper renderer, and I love his work so much. This is another great project from him, and I would very much like to see it made a reality.

Next, we have Tawny Fritz's Stargazing: Coloring the Zodiac. Tanwy share:

"Stargazing: Coloring the Zodiac will be a softcover gold foil stamped book, perfect bound at 8.5"x11" inches, with over 24 pages printed on 80 lb paper. The name of each Zodiac sign will be printed on the bottom of the page facing the art, so you always know which Celestial Being you're giving life to! Each image was hand drawn by me using micron and Faber-Castell pens. Each Zodiac drawing is printed twice, so you won't have to worry about messing up your favorite sign.

...When I was 3 years old, my Mom caught me drawing smiley faces on the linoleum floor under our kitchen table. She slid a piece of paper under the pen and I have been drawing faces ever since. I love exploring the human condition through drawings of fantastical and mythological femmes. I believe we are all connected on a cosmic level and this coloring book is meant to show how perfect each person in this universe is, no matter what labels or flaws are ascribed to them. I hope you find solace and peace while coloring the pages of this book, and I invite you to take a moment to consider what makes each person both unique from as well as similar to the rest of humanity."

I have known Tawny for years, and I adore her gorgeous line work and images. She has a unique voice and style, and I am always thrilled to see what she is working on. If you love beautiful art and coloring books you simply must go get one of these.

Lastly, there is Brian Colin's Vast Grimm: Into Oblivion. This is an Infinite Black production, but our friend Brian and his Creature Curation are heavily involved. They share:

"Vast Grimm is a stand-alone, art-filled, punk-fueled OSR role-playing game about the few humans remaining in a universe being consumed by growing parasitic würms. Are you a MAnchiNe ravaged by war, pieced together with remnants of bots and the little flesh left of your body? Maybe you're a twisted biochemist shoving needles into your arms in hopes that this next fix will be the one that saves you and what’s left of humanity? Or perhaps you are a soul survivor, like a cockroach, doing whatever is necessary to stay alive even if it means the rest of your Legion must perish. This is a game about survival, no matter how gruesome things get, humanity must survive."

Boy, oh, boy, does this not look and sound amazing. I have resisted the siren's call to this game for a while, but I am hooked now. It looks great, sounds awesome, and the playtests I have seen look super fun. You should really check this out if you are looking for some bleak space RPG excitement.

And you need to act fast! This campaign ends later on the day this post goes live!

That is all for another exciting week on the blog. See you back here on Monday! Until then...

First up is Elisabeth Alba's The Everyday Witch Oracle Coloring Book! Elisabeth is a fantastic artist, and we are lucky enough to own a couple of her originals. We have known her for years, and her work a prized addition to our collection. Her new project is a coloring book of witches in everyday settings looks brilliant, and we can not wait to get our hands on it. The pages in the book are perforated to make coloring easy, and there is a tier to support the campaign that allows you to get two books, one to color and one to keep pristine... or two to color! You can also get original art as well.

Next up is Brian Colin's (Creature Curation) RPG Squeeze Series 2 – Squishy Dungeon Crawl Critters! Brian is a mighty monster maker, and I love his work immensely. In addition to drawings, paintings, and sculptures, Brain and Creature Curation produce RPG products, pins, and other monster related products, including adorably cute squeeze monsters. This current Kickstarter is for the second series of features Eyegors, Gelatinous Cubes, and Mimics. There are standard versions, rare variants, and exclusive versions available through the campaign. There is a wide range of tiers to support, and there are unlocked stretch goals and add-ons to take advantage of. I can not wait to get my hands on some squeezy monsters!

Lastly is Steven Russell Black's Curious Adornments Enamel Pins! If you are unfamiliar with Steven's work, you are missing out. I have supported Steven's campaigns in the past to get my hands on his art books, and they are treasured in my collection. As an artist that prefers to draw, I LOVE Steven's drawings and pencil work. This particular campaign is for enamel pins based on his work. If you know me, you know I love enamel pins and try to get my hands on them whenever possible. This campaign started out with three available pins, and already a fourth has been unlocked. I am really looking forward to the tiger pin, but all will be prized in my collection.

All three campaigns are funded, and either has stretch goals unlocked or will soon start unlocking them. Now is the time to support artists and get yourself some incredible art and objects!
