Drogon - Process

I tend to not pander to delusional people I encounter on the internet... frankly, if i did I would have very little time to do anything else. You may have noticed my blog post this morning about my Drogon piece getting a Daily Deviant. In the midst of all the kind words folks over on DA have been giving, someone actually is insisting that I am not the creator of this painting, or drawing as they call it, and that I copied it and that I am a liar! Well, this post goes out to you, homy7793, I hope you find my process shots for the piece informative and interesting!

The steps follow the same progression I have shown in several of my other process posts: Haggling, Warriors of the Poison Dusk, Sea Demon Shrine part 1 and Sea Demon Shrine part 2. Only thing that is different is that I scanned my drawing in at an early stage to get approval from my art director since approval from the author was very important.

Not sure who or what I am coping and not sure why I am a liar, but I had a moment to post these images and I figure you all might enjoy seeing these steps. I wonder if James Gurney and Todd Lockwood have to deal with this kind of thing?

Okay, see you back here on Wednesday! Until then...

All dragons love themselves a Daily Deviation!

I got up this morning to find a rather large number of messages on my DeviantArt account and that can only mean one thing, Daily Deviation! The lucky winner of my third Daily Deviation turned out to be my crowd favorite, Drogon! You can check out Drogon's DA page HERE. A big THANK YOU goes out to DA user kasumichan2003 for featuring the piece as a DA!

All the evil reptiles love a Daily Deviation!

I got up this morning to find a rather large number of messages on my DeviantArt account and that can only mean one thing, Daily Deviation! The lucky winner of my second Daily Deviation turned out to be a motley crew of evil reptile, the Warriors of the Poison Dusk. You can check out the Warriors of the Poison Dusk's DA page HERE. Pathfinder Companion: Gnomes of Golarion (part #1)

Today I bring you the first of several posts of my work from the recently released Pathfinder Companion: Gnomes of Golarion book released by the good folks at Paizo. First up is a chapter header dealing with Gnome settlements and communities...

Not only was I only one of two artist that worked on all the interior art for this companion book, but the other artist was none other then my friend and fellow artist Jeremy McHugh! I was thrilled to see how well the book turned out and especially happy to see how well our working styles meshed in this book. You can see some of Jeremy's Gnome work HERE. I hope that we have another chance to share the pages in this fashion again soon!

My head is still spinning after yesterday's Daily Deviation over at DeviantArt. At last count I have about 3300 messages and activity alerts to go through (with all that free time I have). Be careful what you wish for!

I have a lot of irons in the fire right now, so there may be a lot of jumping around with the content on the blog in the coming weeks as new projects are released. See you back here on Friday! Until then...

My first Daily Deviation! WOOT!

I got up this morning to find a happy surprise, over 600 (and growing) messages on my DeviantArt account and that can only mean one thing, Daily Deviation! And it is my first one to boot! The lucky winner of this attention turns out to be a recent crowd favorite of mine, the Anglerphant. For a piece I almost didn't finish it has sure received a lot of attention! You can check out the Anglerphant's DA page HERE. A big THANK YOU goes out to DA user krissi001 for suggesting the piece to be a DA!

I had secretly (and not so secretly) hoped that I might get a Daily Deviation some day. I should be careful what I wish for... now I have loads of messages and watchers to take care of! Though I think it will be worth it in the end.

See you back here tomorrow for some new work! Until then...
