Kickstarter Roundup - Walker

Today on the blog, I wanted to point out a Kickstarter project that launched this week that I think you all might be interested in. I am thrilled to share this Kickstarter with you because not only have I been fortunate enough to know the artist and to have followed his artistic journey over the years, but he is a great guy, and he makes really cool monsters. Jacob Walker: Color The Cthulhu Mythos of H.P. Lovecraft Coloring Book

Jacob Walker is no stranger to this blog, and I am always thrilled to share his new projects. Jacob loves the monsters of the Lovecraft mythos, and it is always exciting to see what he has been working on. This time around, he offers up a new coloring book featuring 25 new monsters for your madness-inducing coloring fun. Here is some information from the Kickstarter.

"Cthulhufhtagn!

Eldritch horror comes alive in this intricately illustrated coloring book of cosmic horror by artist Jacob Walker. Fans will find all the classics here, Cthulhu, Dagon, Nyarlathotep, The King in Yellow, and more as you visit R’lyeh, the Dreamlands, the Mountains of Madness and beyond. The elder gods, fiends and fanatics are depicted in 25 ghoulish images for your dread and delight. The book features single sided perforated pages printed on quality paper, good for pencils, inks, and marker."

Unexpected Last Post of 2020

While I thought I had wrapped up all my posts for 2020 here on the blog, it looks like there was one more. I have mentioned more than once that 2020 was a challenging year for me artistically. While I saw the completion, funding, and publishing of my first illustrated novel in the Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia series, I spent much of the year unable to produce art. It wasn't until the last several months that I could get back to the table and get back to work. I know many of you out there were in the same boat, are still in the same boat, or can relate to this as it pertains to your lives. Needless to say, I think this all is made more manifest by my Instagram top nine for 2020. My posts were way down, my numbers on links and comments on the posts are way down, and the work that was most interacted with was almost exclusively client work, much of which was old reposts, and one piece of my linework colored by Jacob Walker. I am a little surprised that my new personal work is nowhere to be seen here, but there is nothing I can, or care, to do about it. This is in no way something to take personally, and it will affect me in no way moving forward. It is all merely an observation through one lens. Kickstarter Roundup - Aradani and Walker

Today on the blog, I wanted to point out some current Kickstarter projects that I think you all might be interested in. All feature fantastic art and products by remarkable people, and if you have not already checked them out, you should do so NOW!

Aradani Studio's Mask Armor: decorative covers for PPE

First up is Aradani Studio's Mask Armor: decorative covers for PPE! Aradani Studios has been at the forefront of elf ears and related projects for years. They are good friends of mine, and I love their work, and they are now creating something I desperately need in my hands, Mask Armor, to cover your PPE. Be the envy of your friends and terrorize your enemies with these fantastic masks that come unpainted or prepainted. I am pledging to get two unpainted and can't wait to get them so that I can paint them and then wear them out and about. The campaign just began, and they are already over 50% to funding. Now is the time to get involved and help them hit their goal. If not for them, do it for me so that I can get my mask! There are two styles, and here are some images from their campaign.

Jacob Walker's Call of Cthulhu Limited Edition Vintage Lovecraft Art Print

Lastly is Jacob Walker's Call of Cthulhu Limited Edition Vintage Lovecraft Art Print! I have known Jacob for many years, and his work has only improved by leaps and bounds as long as I have known him. His newest painting is a testament to the time and energy he is putting into his craft. For his current campaign, he is producing limited prints of his lastest Call of Cthulhu painting. It is gorgeous and should be a must-have for any Cthulhu fan. The painting and drawing have already been sold, but the prints are available through the campaign, which is already funded many times over. Coloring the Eau-de-nil Elder by Jacob Walker!

*UPDATE! The Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia is NOW AVAILABLE!* 

The amazing Achsa Nute (who also my wife) reached out to several artists to see if they would like to color one of the monsters from The Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia Coloring Book. They, of course, said yes because they are awesome and cool. First up, we have for you today the contribution of the fantastic Jacob Walker, who brought color to the Eau-de-nil Elder.

The Grand Coloring Book of Ethra VanDalia measures 9x12 and is 84 pages. It features one-sided art with solid black on the reverse side to allow marker use and to limit bleeding. The book is available separately on my Kickstarter and is bundled with several of the other tiers so that you can receive the coloring book and the rest of the books offered in my campaign. Here is how the Eau-de-nil Elder will appear in the main book.
