I was waiting in a doctors office sketching and this creature started to take shape and before I knew it I was working on the complete turnaround for it. Though this is about five years old I am a little surprised to see some similar shapes and forms in this design that I just put into a new creature I am doing for a client. Granted I think I am doing a much better job on my new piece to pull off the forms. Just interesting to see that I apparently have shapes and forms I am drawn toward... that's the making of a personal style.
Anyway... back to my shame... I didn't even notice the mistake until this design was out the door and off to China to be turned into a miniature. I held my tongue for too long, I must now speak of my mistake. I am sure you have already seen it, but if you have not, I have a handy graphic to show you...
SHAMEFUL! I forgot the tail that wraps around to the front of the body. Actually that whole side of the back view is all kind of messed up. At least it did not have any effect on the production miniature. You can see for yourself how the Crypt Worm turned out in it's final production miniature form, HERE.
That is all for another week here on the blog. See you back here next week for some more blog fun! Until then...
